Best Pens for Lefties (Quick-Drying But Still Great For Writing)

Video Review

Video Transcript

so as some of you might have noticed
this point I am left-handed I’ve had a
number of requests for my favorite pens
and ink for left-handed individuals so
here is that video it’s gonna be a quick
list because I really wanted to trim
down the recommendations and not offer
stuff that’s like slightly better than
normal
these are these are pens that are great
for left-handed people that are very
quick drawing so first off if you’re
gonna buy anything
buy this one this is zebra Sarasa dry
this is part of the serosa line the dry
is the model 0.5 millimeter comes in
different sizes but the dry is their
quick drying line all the zebra Strasse
inks are very quick drying they dry
supposedly is the dry is the quickest of
them I haven’t noticed a huge difference
between the dry and the other sauces but
the point is that the Sarasa is very
quick drying even if it wasn’t quick
drying I really like this line I think
this roster series is pretty great and
definitely undervalued but this one in
particular is when I reach for a lot
next up is the energy gel all of the
pintail energy L line has ink that dries
very quickly I prefer this energy L
alloy X or yeah it’s called the energy
alloy X this is a kind of their premium
model but it’s still very affordable
it’s like six bucks or something
it comes in this cool gold and I tend to
write with it in a point one a 1.0
millimeter which lays down more ink than
the other ones but it’s still very quick
drying if you’re like a real stickler
for quick drying you can go with 0.5 or
0.7 millimeter but again all their ink
looks great and dries quickly I wanted
to have at least one multi pen plus I
wanted to recommend something from the
jet stream line so I picked this one and
I’ll link to everything and then notes
below what some of the names of these
are a little bit confusing
anyway the point
I’m trying to get at is that the jet
stream line from uniball is very quick
drying and anything you get from jet
stream with their hyper tank is gonna
dry very quickly and be fun to write
with this is my favorite multi pen and
what it uses is the jet stream be one
refills those little metal refills and
these have they write very cleanly and
they tend to be very quick drying that
are not there that much more quick
drying than the rest of the jet stream
series but they I definitely have found
them to be great to write with if you’re
concerned with smudging and smearing
those things lastly I wanted to
recommend not really the preppy fountain
pen but the noodler bernanke cuter navy
ink this is a quick drying ink it’s like
this watery ink that really dries
quickly in paper even if you have a more
resistant ink resistant paper which you
might be good to bring out the colors in
your fountain pen it they will tend to
soak up this bernanke line it’s not the
best looking ink but if you have to have
a fountain pen and you want to put down
a reasonable amount of ink not be like
scratching along than the bernanke
series from Noodlers is a good way to go
and that’s it you know I didn’t want to
get into really shades of grey here just
stuff that dries quickly all the time
regardless of the paper you’re gonna use
and again if you have a more open paper
one that accepts accepts ink more
readily then it kind of doesn’t really
matter what you write with but if you’re
gonna write on a nicer paper they tend
to resist ink a little bit more I want
to do a quick writing test and quick
smear test is very unscientific but I
just to get the point across this is the
MIMO seen paper which i think is fairly
ink resistant and it’s a nice heavy
paper first up we have the zebra
sarasu dry 0.5 millimeter real quick no
smearing now we have the pen tell and
hair gel and our gel 1.0 millimeter so
again this is a 100 millimeter so you
can see it’s a big thick bold line and
still almost no smearing very impressive
now we’ll go over to the uniball jet
stream
really nice performance there it’s a
thinner but it writes really nicely and
again no smearing lastly we have that
Noodlers pink and this is the Bernanke
so did it smear yeah totally that’s what
happens with fountain pens they just put
down a lot of ink and they tend to smear
but you could see here this line did not
the new ders part did not smear Harry
right here you get one two three almost
no smearing accepted that end there
where the ink sort of collects and you
put down more ink so again any fountain
pen or almost all fountain pens
especially something like this this is a
preppy 0.5 millimeter which is
essentially a broad and they’re gonna
put down a lot of ink so there will be
some smearing but if I tested this out
against a different fountain pen ink
particularly one with some like more ink
qualities to it you know something with
a little bit more shading or shimmer or
whatever you’re looking for you would
see a lot more smearing there the fact
that is N and O’s and smear it all it’s
pretty impressive but just to summarize
if you care about smearing or you’re
looking for the best pen for left-handed
people or you want something it’s
quick-drying
the Strasse is a great one to get energy
gel line is excellent and very easy to
find
lastly the jet stream line again
excellent very easy to find
I like the multi pen but it doesn’t
really matter so much at the end same
with the rest of the cerasus
they’re all great the dry is the best
questions comments please leave them in
the notes or in the comments and I’d be
curious to hear what you guys use
especially if you’re left-handed thanks
for watching
