The Best Hearing Protection for Lawn Care

Video Review

Video Transcript

hey folks brandy here are doing cutting
trim so I wanted to talk to you guys
today about hearing protection because I
have a hearing protection that I want to
recommend to you but it’s with a big
caveat
let’s get them squinting your mouth oh
my god so well I’ve used several
different kinds of hearing protection
you know use the $20 bluetooth
headphones you can get on Amazon those I
don’t think really count as hearing
protection they just make the music
louder then then the engine noise
obviously I’ve used like the 3m like
over the ear headphones and honestly
those are probably the best hearing
protection you can get they probably
work the best out of anything but the
major drawback from those things is that
they they don’t they don’t you can’t
wear a hat with them generally speaking
and you know so you’re not really so you
know you’re getting that hearing
protection but at the sacrificing sun
protection and that’s not really a good
it’s not smart to do so you need to use
in ear hearing protection
I use the j-bird x3s for a while they
worked great but eventually they died I
think you know they’re not waterproof
you know they’re just to a certain
extent they’re not sweat I don’t know
whatever they just didn’t they fell
apart they’re not meant for commercial
use but you know the company that I’ve
had the most success with but there’s a
caveat here the most success I’ve had
with anything has been ISO Tunes which I
know most of you guys have probably
heard of because some time I think was
last year in the last year of the year
before everybody and their mother was
trying to sell
eisah tune boat bluetooth headphones
I I bought a pair of bluetooth
headphones and well we’ll talk more I
don’t own them anymore the what I’m
using now is and I’m not hacking
anything here I don’t know how to do
affiliate links so I’m just trying to
help you out here I’m not benefiting
from this but I use the eisah Tunes I
don’t know if you can see that eisah
Tunes wired hearing protection they
actually are rated higher than the
Bluetooth headphones I think the
Bluetooth headphones are rated to 27
they have a 27 nose reduction rating and
the wired headphones actually have 29 I
believe the higher the number the better
I would assume that’s the case anyway so
I’ve been using the wired headphones
they’re kind of goofy they’re like this
you know they’re funny colored but you
know you just the guy I prefer to go
with the long tips like that and you
just kind of stick them in and you just
kind of wiggle it in there until you got
a nice solid fit and with this in there
I can hear the engine running so that I
you know like I can hear what the
engines doing but I keep but it keeps it
from being harmful and I can hear
everything in the headphones perfectly
like I can listen to music I can listen
to podcasts audiobooks all that stuff it
works perfect there and the Bluetooth
headphones it was the same deal they
worked perfect the problem is in my
opinion ISO Tunes does not
their products just aren’t sturdy enough
in my opinion I think part of the
problem is they’re pretty much the only
option when you’re looking for hearing
protection that also allows you to
listen to you know your music or
whatever they’re pretty much the only in
your shop in town so my bluetooth
headphones they they lasted me about six
months and then I they just the bitches
they just stopped working once I’d
stopped working the other side was quiet
and they didn’t really hold a charge
they just stopped working I don’t know
after six months they just put it out
but what’s kind of disappointing me but
I kind of prepared myself for it is
these headphones I got them for 40 bucks
I believe so they were cheaper which I
was glad because the Bluetooth ones are
like 70 80 bucks or maybe they said 80
90 I can’t remember but these I just
bought three weeks ago so I’ve been
using I’ve been using them hard but I’ve
been using them for three weeks every
day all day and I don’t know if you got
to see this but yeah kind of kind of sit
it’s cracked this housing is cracked and
is that the worst one or is the other
one the worst one okay yeah that was the
really bad one but and then this side
where the
I don’t know if you’re about to see that
but whatever they’re both housings are
cracked and this one well it’s not doing
fortunately this one actually completely
fell apart so I’m actually gonna buy
some hot glue or something and kind of
you know glue in these cracks try and
hold everything in place because the the
headphones still work they just aren’t
you know they’re already falling apart
after three weeks and it’s really it’s
disappointing you know like you really I
really want to be able to say like you
know I so tunes is they’re they’re the
best well no I mean I am gonna say that
I so tunes are the best in ear hearing
protection you’re gonna get that also
allows you to listen to music the
problem is their quality is just not
it’s not just not where it needs to be I
mean you know these shouldn’t be falling
apart after three weeks I mean that’s
kind of nuts so I mean I do recommend
them I think they’re great but man they
I do feel like there’s a quality issue
there now the book tooth one is I’m not
a hundred percent maybe six months is
good for Bluetooth headphones but to me
that sounds awful I feel like I should
be able to get a year or two out of them
at least but I just want to tell you
guys that you know that’s the hearing
protection I use and it allows me to you
know I have my hat on and you know be
protected from the Sun while also
protecting my ear so I just went passed
it on to you guys hope it’s helpful to
you I gotta do some other stuff his
Randy was doing cutting trim have a good
one

Which ear protection should you get for your lawn mower? The two most popular choices, the standard ear muffs and the specially designed ear plugs, are both good options. The only difference is that a mower’s noise can vary depending on what kind of mower it is, and the level of the noise is also different. Here are some facts about ear protection for your mower.

On high-speed models there is a lot of sound. On a lawn mower that has an automatic transmission, there is more noise as well. The difference between the different types is based on the type of sound waves. There is a lower frequency sound in low speed mowers and higher frequency sound in automatic transmission mowers. There are special ear plugs for the higher frequency sounds that will prevent hearing loss if the ear plugs are used properly.

A good ear plug will stop the mower’s noise from coming into your ears when you are mowing your lawn. However, this is only the case on the low sound mowers. The high frequency mowers produce high-pitched sound waves, which do not get absorbed by your ear, but can still cause damage to your ear drum. To protect yourself from the damage caused by high pitch noise, you need to use a special muffler designed for the mower. This muffler stops the high sound but allows the low sound to pass through.

You can get hearing protection for mowing your lawn for around thirty dollars. It does not matter if the mower has an automatic transmission or not. Just because it is mower does not matter. Some ear plugs are designed to fit under the outer shell of the helmet, so you can wear them even while wearing the mower. Some ear plugs are made to fit over the ear muffs and use the built-in ear plugs. If you find that your mower doesn’t have the built-in plugs, you can get a good pair of custom plugs at a store or online.

There are two different types of ear protection for mowers. The disposable type will require that you put the ear plugs into your ears before you leave the house. These ear plugs are disposable and do not have to be changed after you are done mowing the lawn. You can wash them and replace them with a new pair if necessary, but it is not a great idea to leave them in for too long. They can also go through a lot of dirt and debris. The other type of protection for lawn mowers is called an ear to muffle. It does require you to put the ear plugs in your ear before going to sleep so you can get the same effect, but they will not need replacing after they are used.

If you plan to use the disposable type, it would be best to stay out of the house as much as possible. It is also not advised to sleep in them because of the possibility of the ear plugs getting stuck inside. There is also a chance that the ear muffs may come apart and the sound waves may hit your skin and cause damage.
