This Laptop is AMAZING for 4K Video Editing

Video Transcript

oh boy this has to be one of the most
difficult videos I have ever done on the
channel mainly because on one side I
have probably one of the best laptops I
have ever used this laptop is very
impressive and checks most of the marks
of what I’m looking for in a laptop but
on the flip side you have LG who is the
manufacturer of this laptop who is also
sponsoring today’s video you see where
I’m getting at this is where it gets
very difficult and this is a landscape
that as a creator it’s so hard to
navigate because you have LG who is
sponsoring this video so at the same
time you guys are probably thinking
you’re gonna say all of these nice
things because they’re sponsoring
today’s videos so please let me step
back for a second and explain why I feel
that this is one of the best laptops
that I have used and also tell you guys
about my experience with it so when LG
reached out to me and asked me if I was
interested in the LG Graham 17-inch I
immediately signed up because for
several reasons number one there’s not a
lot of many 17 inch laptops that are
this thin this light and actually very
portable in fact because most 17 inch
laptops are way heavy very bulky and
this one here even though it’s 17 inches
the footprint on this laptop is more
like a 15 inch they claim that this is
the lightest 17 inch laptop weighing
under three pounds which is actually
very impressive now when you go to their
website and this is another thing that
really caught my attention is that
they’re catering to content creators so
a lot of the pictures that they’re
showing there are people using Adobe
Premiere now this is still considered an
ultrabook because it’s light portable
and thin now ultra ebooks are
technically not that great for video
editing so I had my doubts so I had them
send it out and I said look if I like it
if it would checks all the marks I’ll
make this video hence why I’m doing this
and we’re gonna talk about performance
in a second so right off the bat what
really impressed me is again how light
and thin this thing is also the 17-inch
display is beautiful I’m a big fan of LG
the monitor that you see back there
though ultra wide is from LG and that’s
not sponsored by the way but yeah I’ve
been using that thing for several years
and I love their panels or displays are
really great this one is no different
it’s very accurate in fact that is color
calibrated and when I compared it to
this one it looks identical now the
resolution is a 2560 by 1600
you’re getting a 16 by 10 aspect ratio
which means you’re gonna get a lot more
vertical real estate so you’ll be able
to see your timeline a lot better also
if you’re doing a lot of web browsing or
even if you’re coding this is actually
really well too one thing I do not like
not a fan of it is the reflective
display it’s not a deal breaker by any
means but it can be distracting I’m just
not a fan of that so I figured I would
let you guys know yes even though this
is sponsored I am going to tell you
things I don’t like about it this also
has a back illuminated keyboard which
looks great and is obviously very useful
when working at night a very responsive
one of the best that I’ve ever used and
also it has a fingerprint reader on the
power button which works phenomenal the
trackpad also works fantastic again one
of the best that I have used from any
laptop and it also uses a Windows
precision driver so like touch gestures
and stuff like that works really well so
no complaints there and then underneath
this all is the latest 8th gen core i7
quad core processor 16 gigs around and
then my model here has 512 gigs of SSD
storage which can also be upgraded so it
has two SSD slot so if you plan to
upgrade more there is an additional slot
where you can add more storage and they
make it very easy to do that now of
course if you don’t know what you’re
doing it’s always best to consult with a
professional I have to say that just for
a disclaimer but in any case yeah this
thing is pretty powerful but how is it
for video editing well before I tell you
that let me just give you a quick tour
of the i/o because I think that’s very
important as a video editing machine I
think that you have to have ports like
this so you have a USB 3.1 port on this
side on the left side and then two on
the right side you also have a full size
HDMI port very good and also a
Thunderbolt 3 port which comes in very
handy and we’ll talk more about that in
a second so video editing well this is
where things took a massive change
because like I said earlier this is an
ultrabook
and technically ultrabooks are not that
fast well I was shocked when I started
editing c200 raw footage it started
cutting it like butter I didn’t
understand why how is it possible that a
machine like this can cut c200 raw mind
you this is not transcoded
or pre-rendered in anyway I can cut c200
raw with literally no drop frames like
butter now I’m gonna take a guess and
say the reason why it works so well with
Adobe Premiere are for two reasons
number one it uses Intel’s quick sync
and Adobe premier takes advantage of
that so if you have a laptop that uses
quick sync you’ll know that that makes a
night-and-day difference the other
difference that I feel or the reason why
I feel that it makes a big difference is
number two the latest update in Adobe
Premiere so I feel with the latest
update they’ve cleaned the code up quite
a bit so I feel that with this latest
update and obviously Intel Quick Sync
that is a reason why you’re able to get
such performance on a laptop like this
that technically shouldn’t happen so
yeah when it comes to cutting video in
terms of like even c200 raw or you know
I use that USR in ten bit it has no
issues at all and it is such a nice
laptop to use because I’ve never seen
such performance on a laptop that
doesn’t even have a dedicated GPU so
speaking of dedicated GPU I don’t do any
gaming and this video is not about
gaming at all it’s more about my
experience and my experience with video
editing so if you’re into gaming I’m
sorry I just didn’t really test that and
that’s something that I’m personally not
interested in so I apologize for that so
I’ve mentioned that this has one
Thunderbolt three port which comes in
very useful so I use the sound devices
mixed pre-six whenever I’m doing audio
especially if I’m on the go so one of
the things I love about this laptop is
the fact that this Thunderbolt 3 can
actually power that without any issues
so for example I don’t have to take any
external batteries or any type of power
source because just using that
Thunderbolt 3 will actually power my mix
pretty sick so if you’re doing any type
of audio voiceovers or anything like
that it comes in very handy the other
thing that I really like too is the fact
that you can attach other storage
devices so for example if you have like
one of those portable hard drives that
is really fast you can edit directly
from it using Thunderbolt 3 so again
that is very useful very handy and you
also get those full size USB 3.1 ports
it’s not all type-c because you know we
still have things that require a USB the
one thing just a small I wouldn’t really
call it a complaint just a suggestion –
LG is it does come with
one microsd card slot I wish it would
have been an SD card just because I
personally don’t use a lot of micro sd
and I feel that SD card is more of a
well-known format for cameras and stuff
like that so if they would have done an
SD card oh my gosh this would have been
like epic because that is just one less
thing that I have to carry with me but
overall in terms of video editing I have
had no complaints at all using Adobe
Premiere cutting 4k raw footage from the
c200 in fact I actually edited a couple
of videos using this laptop and I’ve
taken it with me on trips wherever I go
mainly because it cuts footage really
well I was blown away and this is one of
the reasons why I decided to make this
video because this laptop is actually
very good for video editing so in
regards to the speakers or really the
volume level it gets very loud and I’ll
show you guys I’m gonna play a clip here
at a 100 percent volume and you’ll
notice the highs are very high it has a
little bit of mid-tones I don’t feel it
has enough flow but I’ll show you guys
I’m gonna go ahead and hit play all the
way down okay so that was a small clip
and it may be a little difficult to
translate over the video in other words
like I don’t know how it will sound
mainly because it’s going from here to
this room now from this microphone so
but for what it’s worth it gets pretty
loud like I said it has a lot of great
highs not so much mids and lows however
it does support DTS audio so if you do
have for examples headphones that
support DTS you can just connect them
and that’s going to give you the best
audio quality so if you’re going to be
doing some editing I would recommend to
use headphones if you want like the best
audio quality but in terms of sound you
can get some pretty loud sound I mean
you can listen to it and hear it very
well without any issue so it’s not like
you have to really jack up the volume to
be able to hear it
so in regards to battery life it’s been
great usually whenever I do any video
editing I always switch it from power
saving mode to like performance mode
just because I want to get all the
performance I can get out of it and
typically when I do that I can get
anywhere from four to five hours of use
just on performance mode obviously if I
switch it over to battery saver it will
last a little bit longer and if I’m just
doing web browsing some like light work
you know Photoshop and stuff like that I
usually can get you know
through the whole entire day without any
problems or actually draining the whole
entire battery LG claims that you can
get over 19 hours in like ideal
performance or ideal use I’ve never used
it more than 19 hours I think that would
be insane but for me if I use it like I
said for light medium work I usually get
or can get through the whole entire date
without any issues now to pretty much
sum this up my experience with this
laptop has been fantastic I love the
larger display especially because I’m
used to using ultra wide monitor so you
know especially on the go when you don’t
have two displays or an ultra wide this
light comes in very handy I love the
fact that it works really well with
Adobe Premiere because this is something
that I will be using whenever I travel
I’ve taken it with me already on the go
I’ve done some video editing with it on
the go so it works really well also
battery life has been fantastic most
importantly the display to me you know I
take pride in what I do and especially
if I color great like I want my stuff to
look you know legit I want it to look
accurate so if I’m working on a display
that doesn’t look good it’s going to
reflect on my work so in terms of
display they like the accuracy it’s
there it’s comparable to my LG one back
there the keyboard is fantastic I love
the trackpad overall in general I think
it checks all the marks there are some
minor little things I don’t like about
her just little coarse I wouldn’t say
they’re deal-breakers but for example
like the micro SD card I wish it had a
full size S steel I’m just a small
little complaint there I think that
would again that would take away from me
having to carry another thing in my
backpack the other thing that I would
say is the brightness of the display I
wish it was a little bit brighter it is
pretty bright but I feel other laptops
can get much brighter so if they can
improve on that again not a deal-breaker
and then lastly just a small little I
guess if you want to call it a complaint
would be the actual display not being
glossy yeah I’m not a fan of it but it’s
they’re not a deal-breaker by any means
but other than that I would say I files
to give it a rating I would say nine
point five out of ten if they can fix I
wouldn’t really say fix but if they can
change those things and improve upon
that I definitely give this laptop a ten
out of town in any case definitely a go
I will leave links and more information
down below if you guys are interested in
picking one up for yourself my name is
Armando thanks again for watching and
you will catch me in the next one

For people who love to watch videos on their laptop, the best laptop for watching movies is the one that gives them the best experience. You can find some laptops that offer better performance, but there are others that give you the quality they promise. Here is a quick guide on what to look for when buying a laptop for watching videos.

  • Good video resolution. Resolution refers to pixel density per square inch of the display where the HD movies would be displayed. The most reliable laptops for watching videos have a screen resolution of more than 1080 pixels. If your budget allows, a higher resolution can be considered.
  • Good battery life. It is not enough to just provide the best performance, it should last longer too. Make sure the laptop you want to buy can last at least four hours.
  • A good graphics card. The laptop you buy should have at least a mid-level graphics card. This should provide good image quality and smooth playback even if there is a lot of traffic in front of the display.
  • Wireless connectivity. This is something that is not mentioned much in laptop reviews, but is a must have. It is best if the laptop you want for watching videos can connect to the Internet wirelessly. This way you will never miss a movie again.
  • A good-looking laptop. A laptop should look nice as well. It should be stylish and attractive and easy to look after. It is a must to buy a laptop that has a stylish design that would match with your office.
  • High-quality audio and video output. The best laptops for watching movies should provide a high-qualityquality audio and video output. They should also support multi-monitor display. You would need this especially for those who have two monitors and need to watch a video while working with the other.

Finding the right hardware for recording, is another thing that you need to consider. Some laptops give you the option of recording the videos directly from the external monitor, while others need an external video camera to record the footage.

When buying laptops for watching videos, make sure to check whether the laptop you want comes with a DVD burner. If not, you should consider buying a laptop with this option, or at least an external drive with a USB port for recording.

Once you have these criteria, you can go ahead and purchase the laptop you want. For the price range you are looking at, you should expect to pay between $500 and thousand, so do some research before buying the best laptop for watching movies.
