Keep Your Power Windows Working Smoothly
how’s it going everybody so today what I
got going on is I’m going to be spraying
the inserts of my window this is a 2003
toyota highlander and what i got going
on is the window is going kind of slow
going up and down so what we’re going to
do is just kind of spray the inserts
like right around here and in here
now when doing this you want to make
sure you have a water resistant silicone
based spray reason being you don’t want
you don’t want to spray your window and
then have the rain just wash it all away
and then you’re right back where you
started and I’m doing this at the end of
November so we have been getting some
rain lately and with this particular
project it’s fairly simple it takes
about five minutes but I’m still gonna
go ahead and say it if you can’t do it
find somebody who can if you try to work
on your car and wind up doing further
damage I’m not responsible now that said
let’s go ahead and get started
first you want to go ahead and roll the
window all the way down
you can kind of hear it struggling there
he’ll go ahead and get a towel
put it across the door what this will do
is protect your paint and also your door
panel you’ll grab your spray
like some in there will grab your spray
and then just right
and then as you can see you kind of have
some drips but don’t worry about that
that’s what you have a towel for and
then you just take just take your towel
and just wipe it off
make sure you wipe your door panel make
sure you wipe the door don’t want to
leave this stuff sitting on your car too
long especially on your paint
and now the moment of truth
goes up and down much smoother now and
that’s about it basically you just
repeat the process for the other three
windows and for this not only does it
work on power windows but you can also
do it for manual windows I went ahead
and sprayed the driver side a on the
passenger side window for this car last
and the windows go up and down a lot
smoother now obviously with manual
windows you won’t have a motor to
replace but still it just makes them go
up easier and it’s easier on your arm so
still still a good thing to do every now
and then and for this process basically
you’ll just have to repeat it every year
or so maybe around the time the rain
comes and that’s about it
have a good day everyone
