boss to the boss coin YouTube channel
and today I’m here to talk about what is
the best power supply for your and minor
slash basic minor and above all the most
important ray ever created forever and
always the best GPU miners alright guys
so right here I’ve got my favorite power
supply it is the EVGA 750 watt platinum
PSU I’m a huge advocate of platinum
power supplies and quite honestly if
it’s not platinum I don’t really want it
so here’s why ultimately eventually you
will save money and a platinum power
supply will be worth it so there’s a
whole rating system for power supplies
ATX style such as this EVGA this is an
ATX power supply it’s kinda like a
standard they fit in every computer
build everything like that that’s what
they’re designed for the designer on
computer I’m exactly 24/7 where is if
you have a server power supply such as
this one like a compact this is it looks
pretty big in the pictures it’s actually
pretty small basically the overall
consensus is that the server piece use
are designed to run 24/7 their server
PSU the more industrial style the more
heavy duty they’re not exactly standard
shape even though this is kind of a
standard shape these a bit bigger
difference between this and that is this
is a 2400 watt that’s huge that’s this
times three and a half then you got this
size which is a little smaller a little
more standard this is a 750 watt but
these will basically be conjoined and
operate as one to give me a 1500 watt
power supply which is what I’m building
this six card GPU rig from a trio mining
rig which is a three card mining rig as
shown this is what a standard tree looks
like I have to build videos on this
miner and I stand by this this is the
easiest simplest and most reliable great
bang for buck rig to build for newcomer
and even intermediate honestly these
things have been rock frickin solid so

topic but the point is I’m talking about
power supplies what’s the best one I
wanted to give you a little bit of
background and just kind of give you an
overview because ultimately your power
supply choice comes down to an ATX power
supply first a server power supply and
once you get to that decision you’re
gonna have a few different options the
server PS use or rather limited and I
buy every server PSU from parallel minor
if you subscribe to my channel you know
that I like them and you know was into
their products so much that I’ve been
fortunate enough to actually become an
affiliate this video is not because I’m
an affiliate it’s because I truly
believe this stuff I get questions all
the time hey man what’s the best part
supply and I’m like hey man I’m still
learning like you but this is what I’m
using I’m getting good results so that’s
exactly that this 2400 watt can run 3 L
3 plus with the correct breakout board
if you’re not familiar this is a
breakout board and what this does is as
you can see insert insert here inserter
so you’re gonna grab this power supply
and you’re just gonna simply just I mean
there’s a lot of ways to do it but
you’re just gonna line it up you know be
careful and you’re just gonna slide it
right in again you’re gonna take two
breakout boards to one server PSU like
this because this one’s so large and
just like that you’re in there like
swimwear on a smaller power supply such
as this 750 watt even though we’re gonna
be using it as 2 and I’m actually gonna
use a wide style power supply cord which
I’ll go grab and show you guys see
exactly what I’m talking about but
that’s gonna allow these power supplies
to run as one and honestly figure it out
some of this stuff it’s really a massive
headache once you know you’re like wow
that was simple I wish I knew more about
this stuff before I got into it hey guys
this is what ye looks like
or power supply so you’re gonna see you
got two outputs on one input so your
inputs going to be you know simply the
power and then you’re gonna have two
outputs so these received 13 cables
which is standard you know computer
style plugins you see you know they’re
just got three lines going up simple
this is a C 20 which is like kind of
like a non pressed
like emoji face with the – underscored –
if you guys want to buy this power

talking about this and that which one
should you choose and why honestly if
you’re doing a smaller break build like
a trio it makes more sense to get a 750
watt power supply cuz you’re gonna need
a very cool but slightly expensive
adapter depending where you get it from
– run a rig entirely off of a server PSU
so for example let’s take this power
supply I’m gonna give you scenario and
we’re gonna power this trio which is
right here we’re just gonna plug in all
the cords that comes with and we’re
gonna have exactly what we need to run
the trio cool simple boom done
obviously you get that I get that so
let’s take this 750 watt turns out 750
watt 750 watt we have plenty of PCIe
cords but we’re gonna end up hooking
this up and we’re gonna be missing two
things so we’re gonna need this crazy
little thing called Pico PSU which took
me awhile to figure out and learn but it
comes with this is a wires and you’re
gonna connect everything I mean you know
it’s pretty obvious like you just take
whatever and plug it into everything
else it’s all gonna click together put
these wires in there and you’re gonna
end up with a motherboard cable that is
powered by a PCIe slot that is running
your motherboard so this allows you to
bypass the need for a motherboard cable
the only other thing is you’re gonna
need a CPU cable there’s a couple of
different things you can do because
you’re gonna have six slot of PC II’s
and this one’s an 8 slot simplest thing
is you get a 6 pin – 8 pin adapter
imagine this is a 6 pin to eight pin a 6
pin is these six little slots here that
means it’s a 6 pin if there are eight
slots would be an 8 pin so we’re gonna
plug this in here and we’re gonna plug
in the 6 pin and it’s gonna come over
here to the 8 pin I mean you can just
grab a CPU cable from one of your other
power supplies and extra anything like
that or order one I know you can buy
single wires of the BitFenix which is
actually a really cool power supplies I
used in my custom gaming rig built
anyway point is you’re gonna get any
kind of cable plug it in there then
you’re gonna plug it in to the CPU slot
on your motherboard if you need one then
with that cable and this cable you’re
gonna be running a entire mining rig off
of entirely solely server PS use
previously people used to run a little
baby power supply to power those things
I don’t like that more wires it’s
annoying
I’m trying to run entirely off this with
a 12 cord that I’m working on do the
power limits I’m gonna be running 2 PS
use on that but this 6 card is going to
run entirely off of this 750 watt times
2 PSU so I’m talking a lot about this
and that and whatever else which one
should you choose if you’re doing a 6
card or bigger you should use a server
power supply in my opinion it ends up
being a better deal or about the same
and you’re getting my opinion a little
bit more heavier duty power supply and
again I’m not taking anything away from
the ATX power supply producers
specifically EVGA because they make a
very nice product and I currently run my
entire farm of trio’s off of EVGA power
supplies I also have a 10 year warranty
these things freaking Rock not taking
away from those but I’m moving to bigger
and badder power supplies as I look to
move my rigs become bigger and badder
because you know just like low set and
never stop and prove it
the only other negative with the server
PSU is you’re probably gonna be sent
six pin two 6-pin pci ii cables which
isn’t a big deal because we’re gonna
take this just a little dapjur cost a
couple bucks
and we’re gonna go ahead and plug this
cable in there and once you plug it in
you’re gonna see that you have two eight
pins so for this ten atti
this one specifically aces model I’m
gonna need an eight pin and a 6 pin this
cable is sufficient to run solid 250
watts some say more some say last
comment below tell me what you think one
PCIe cable can safely run I know that
this is no problem to run 200 watts
which is what I run my 1080 TI is it
because I find that to be about the best
Sol per watt usage personally so
ultimately you’ve got to do what’s best
for you in your setup in your situation
I recommend both power supplies but if
you’re looking for the best bang for
buck and really the best options I would
absolutely do the server psu with these
adapters if you need to do so you can
run the baby power supply a lot of
people do that like a 450 watt it’s
plugged in their motherboard and
whatever but honestly I like to reduce
the clutter and it’s pretty cool do you
can run it entirely off of this there’s
a few less cables to manage and it’s a
win in my opinion this Jhpiego PSU you
can also power a couple risers with a
couple of different models parallel
minor is the 160 watt and 180 watt and I
think they have another bigger one
that’s in the works so I don’t know
again as always your mileage may vary
