happy Monday Facebook fans I am Lynn
with craft Fox girls and I am here with
your lunchtime live craft quickie so
every Monday at 12:30 p.m. Eastern
Standard Time we will have a quick and
easy craft free so you can grab your
lunch and then come craft with us so I
hope everyone had a fantastic weekend
happy Father’s Day to all the dads out
there I had a great day yesterday with
my dad hanging out at the pool grilling
out perfect relaxing day so we hope all
the dads had a fantastic Father’s Day
today I want to show you how to make
something fun with one of my new product
obsessions so I discovered krylon sea
glass spray paint when I went to the
craft and hobby mega show back in
January I was obsessed with it I
realized that when I tried to use H
glass and cream in the past it was so
hard and never got the look I wanted but
this is fantastic so check out this
product on so the Krylon sea glass spray
comes in a whole bunch different colors
but these are my favorite so you can see
some of the other things I made with
that I made these vases with the seafoam
color and then for Father’s Day actually
made my dad some rocks glasses he loves
his bourbon and coke um and let me tell
you so these faces on Pinterest got
pinned forty-nine thousand times and
Counting so people really like this
product so I wanted to show you a
different and cool way to actually use
the product so I was thinking about
something that you could put in your
kid’s room could actually use it for a
party so what we’re going to do today is
we’re going to take a piece of glass
which is actually a piece of glass from
a frame 8 by 10 and we are going to
write a message so we’re using regular
old sticker letters we’re going to use
the ice colored sea glass and then we
will show you what you need the frame
and some other fun stuff in the second
step so I love to Sparkle right I know
super corny but we’re going to do the
word sparkle so all we’re doing with
these super simple sticker letters we’re
going to peel them off and put them on
the glass so we actually cheated a
little bit on the straight-line
beforehand and we drew a line on the
piece of craft paper that we’re using
which is actually a great idea so that
our letters can be straight so we’re
going to do that
and we’re going to look for a P and you
can get these sticker letters I think I
pick these up at Michaels
a whole pack of them for like 399 and I
use these guys for all kinds of stuff
you can actually see here’s what I’m
leftover from a craft and the great part
about it is if you’re careful about how
you peel them off you can actually reuse
them alright guys if you’re watching
this and you see a little live subscribe
up in the corner make sure that you hit
that because you can then get
notifications on when we are going to go
live we’ve got some other fun live
programming coming to you over the next
few weeks and some of our other CB jeers
who are crafters are going to start
creating some really fun programs that
you are not going to want to miss ah
right so we’re spelling out sparkle but
what I do like about this is you could
actually do this for a kid’s room so if
you wanted to do your child name you
could put their name on there if you’re
doing a party you could do it for a food
station and spell out the other word
food or drink and again this
krylon sea glass spray comes in all
different colors so you can pick which
color you want to use I’m kind of
partial to the ice color because it
gives it just that like sheer glass
looks like you’ve got that frosted glass
look so we’re going to do you can notice
that we’re outside today this is
actually my backyard so this is the
backdrop to our office um so right
behind right down into filming say hi
Rosanna hello is our studio we’re
outside because you want to be in a
well-ventilated area if you’re going to
use any type of spray paint and notice
that we covered this is a bar we covered
it with some craft paper you could use a
drop cloth but make sure that you cover
it and run a well-ventilated area so
we’re going to do this about six to
eight inches from the frame and we’re
just going to do a light coating I
recommend doing about three to four
coats depending on how dark you want the
frost to be and I’m going to show you
another one right now but I let them dry
about five minutes in between coats and
I like to get it so there is a pretty
good frost to it
so as you can start to see I don’t know
if you’ll be able to see it through the
camera but you can see the frost a
little bit so what we’re going to do is
I’m gonna let this sit aside I would not
keep you guys here all day long waiting
five minutes between each coat to dry
but I did one a little bit earlier and
actually did it with lowercase letters
so you can get an idea to see once you
peel off the letters this is what it
looks like so again remember you’re
going to spray it you’re going to wait
about five minutes in between coats I
did about four to five coats and then at
the end of it I would give it a good
like 20 minutes
so that it actually dries because when
you pull up these letters you want to
make sure that you’re not pulling off
any of the paint so if it’s completely
dry you won’t have to worry about that
so now that we’ve got this done what
we’re going to do is we are going to
take we’ve got a regular old 8 by 10
frame so I’m sure you’ve got one of
these lying around the house and then
scrapbook paper so we’ve got different
colors here look at fourth of July it’s
coming up this could be really fun for a
picnic we’re going to use a plain red
today and we are going to actually put
this behind the glass and we’re going to
put it in the frame so don’t look at the
back of my tattered frame you can see I
reuse my frames I’m a big upcycle Lauren
isn’t for all different projects but
we’re going to put the glass in first
and then we’re going to put our paper
behind it super simple you may want to
put some other cardboard cutting on how
much room you have in your frame but I
love this project there are so many
different ways that you can use it Wow
laughs how fun is that if you can get
the full effect on the camera but it
looks fantastic
so if you’re going to use a patterned
scrap of paper behind it I would
definitely go a little bit heavier on
the coat so maybe do about eight of the
coats so that it’s really dark and you
can really get the difference between
the unsprayed glass and the spray glass
you’re worried about the finish I like
to use the modge podge clear acrylic
spray at the end so before you take the
letters off the glass go ahead and spray
just like one layer of this on and again
let it dry for about 20 minutes and
voila
this is today’s lunchtime craft quickie
I’m Len with craft box girls hope you
guys have fun crafting with us remember
to tune in every Monday at 12:30 p.m.
Eastern Standard time to get your craft
